What is proprietary trading, and how does it work?

Proprietary Trading or “Prop” is a business model where the firm provides the capital needed for the trader. In this particular business model, we provide capital, training, information, platform, mentoring and compensation. The company is only paid if the trader is successful. Due to our structure, we do not accept deposits.

In addition, we do not deal with the public, seek clients, or manage money for 3rd parties.

Does Performance Trading require any financial investment by the trader, or a security deposit?

Certain types of prop firms ask for a small deposit from the trader, we are not one of those firms. We provide everything a talented trader would need free of cost.

If I don't have any trading experience, can I still apply at Performance Trading?

Not only do we accept people with no experience, we actively seek them out. We are interested in people that have discipline, patience, analytical thought and especially the desire to learn. We have found that pre-conceived ideas about trading or experience in other types of trading can actually be detrimental.

I am interested in Trading, but how do I know I will be successful?

There is no guarantee of success with Performance Trading or any other trading company. Only 10%-20% of qualified candidates become successful (we define successful as gross trading profits of over $100,000 per year). Only 1% of traders become Millionaires. However, if you have interest in financial markets, are willing to take the time to learn and don’t mind risk, you have a better chance than most.

What qualifications do I need to become a Performance Trader?

We are seeking the following Qualifications:
1. Ability to read and understand English. Most financial information is in English, and it is important that you can comprehend it. We can communicate verbally in either English or Spanish in the office.
2. Quantitative and Risk Taking Personality- You will be dealing with 2 things all day long - Risk and Numbers. You must be comfortable with both of these items. Creative, artistic and free thinking personalities don’t tend to do as well with our methodology.
3. Discipline- You must be able to demonstrate discipline in the Interview as well as in day-to-day activities. People without discipline lose money in financial markets. We are not in the business of losing money.
4. Ability to work without pay for 6 months- Training can be a frustrating and unrewarding on a daily basis. It is vital that you must be able to last the entire period without pay. If you become profitable, your income could be extraordinary. If you are willing to sacrifice for 6 months to discover if you have what it takes, you are a great candidate.
5. Interest-Please keep in mind that trading is not something you do on the side and is not something to do with your time if you don’t have true interest and desire to work in the financial markets. The greatest minds and most successful people in the world do what they love every day. You must love what you do with us to be successful long term.
6. Ambition- We are not interested in people who want to earn $1000-$2000 a month or just want to be “comfortable”. We are interested in people who want to earn a truly extraordinary income.

If I become a Performance Trader, what compensation can I expect?

There is no guarantee of income with Performance Trading. You will be compensated by keeping a percentage of your gross monthly trading profits as well as a potential bonus structure for hard work and profitability. Our expectations are the following (expressed in Gross trading profits).

$0 income – 50%+ of qualified applicants fall into this category.

0-$10,000 per month -Below Average.
$10,000-$20,000 per month –Average.
$20,000-$50,000 per month – Above Average.
$50,000-$100,000+ per month- Extraordinary.

What are the work hours at Performance Trading?

Trading takes hard work and dedication. It is a commitment and a lifestyle.

We need people that are able to be with us from 7:00a.m to 4:00 pm. on days when North American markets are open. Successful traders will be given plenty of days off to recharge.
